What else is included in the intake?

At Serenity Safe Haven, we serve the whole person. We care about all of you so will ask for a complete medical history, including any previous treatment. In addition, you will receive a psychiatric assessment and medication review. In order to serve you well, we will also need to know about any use of substance as well as history of substance abuse. Most importantly, we want to know how you are feeling right now. Do you feel like you may be a risk to yourself or others?

What happens after the intake?

Following the intake, our licensed providers will offer a treatment recommendation and your insurance company will be contacted for authorization of services. Immediately following, we will schedule your first session...and the healing begins!

How do I get the most out of therapy?

Come prepared to engage. It is important to be on time for your session and "unplug" from your devices so you can fully participate in the process. Be open and honest. This will help your therapist understand you and be the most helpful for you. Think about your goals. They may not always be clear, but create some ideas of what you want to accomplish and what you would like to see change in your life. Do your part. In between sessions, take to to think about what you discussed with your counselor. Practice the skills you learned and try to do the new things offered in session. Give feedback. let your therapist know how things are going and what is working for you. Of course, if something isn't working, we would like to know that too.

Your relationship with your therapist is a partnership with you and your well-being is at center focus.
